02. novo número Scandinavian Journal of Work Environment and Health
In addition to a thoughtful editoral on ways to study changes in psychosocial work factors by Associate Editor Dr Cécile Boot and Drs Schelvis and Robroek, this latest issue of Scandinavian Journal of Work Environment & Health has an eclectic collection of papers on different work exposures and different health outcomes. Larsen and colleagues showed in a register-base study that the risk of sickness absence is increased after an evening or night shift. Some guidance for potential intervention strategies is provided by Shiri and colleagues, who report that more optimal shift work scheduling reduced the occurrence of occupational injuries. Construction workers are a favorite occupational group among researchers, with one study on musculoskeletal disorders due to biomechanical load, and another study demonstrating that exposure to respirable crystalline silica may initiate short-term and long-term changes in serum proteins that are linked to cardiovascular disease triggering mechanisms.
We hope that the current issue will appeal to our readers.
Alex Burdorf and Reiner Rugulies
Editors-in-Chief
