Novo manual do HSE do Reino Unido aborda a prevenção no trabalho de quem lida com os mortos.
New guidance for workers handling the deceased
It’s not only Funeral Directors, Embalmers, Pathologists and Cemetery employees who handle the deceased. Every day, Environmental Health Officers, Archaeological Researchers and Redevelopment/Construction companies are at risk of infection from the deceased. Those in the Emergency Services too – Ambulance workers and the Police come into contact with the deceased regularly through their work activities.
HSG283 Managing Infection Risks When Handling The Deceased has just been released and is structured to reflect the pathway of the deceased from death through to burial, cremation and where required, exhumation. It considers the risks of infection that may be present along that pathway. It is a revision and merging of 2 publications: 'Safe working and the prevention of infection in the mortuary and post-mortem room 2003' and 'Controlling the Risks of Infection at Work from Human Remains'.
