TNO report looks at the emergent risks to workplace safety as a result of IT connections of and between work equipment
“Employers ensure the health and safety of their employees with regard to work-related aspects. Have you also organized your cyber security for computer-operated work equipment?”
The ever-greater integration of new technologies in work equipment is regarded as the fourth industrial revolution and referred to as ‘smart industry’. As well as the opportunities this entails for industry, new threats are also presenting themselves. This includes employees who have to move among robots or autonomous driving vehicles, but also malicious actors who can penetrate computers and computer networks and thereby disrupt processes or bring them to a standstill.
A TNO report focuses on the incorporation of safety and cyber security in designs, system integration, and supplies. It takes into account the various interrelationships. Important message is that all parties need to be aware of the importance of an integrated approach to work safety and cyber security.
